Learn basic concepts associated with video game development as you create an game in Scratch where the player must help a family of frogs cross a busy highway. This arcade-style game was inspired by the 1980s classic Frogger! As you work through this project, you will learn and apply several foundational concepts from computer science. You'll use variables to keep track of information while the program is running, and you'll use conditional statements to allow the program to make decisions. Loops will keep things running until the game ends, and functions will help keep the code organized and modular. Finally, you'll react to keypress events to move the frog around the stage! These elements are found in virtually all modern programming languages so the work you do in this project will help prepare you for text-based programming in languages like Python or Java.
Note: This project is included in our One Year All Access Plan and the Game Programming in Scratch Project Bundle.
